In addition, the film protects from outer contamination as it is both viral and bacteria proof. Mepilex Border Sacrum also features an innovative three-step release system for simple ‘hands free’ application.

The whole Mepilex range benefits from the patented soft silicone adhesive technology, Safetac^®. Safetac^® technology provides a good seal around the wound bed, which for the sacral area means less risk of both exudate leaking onto the surrounding skin, causing maceration, and urine or faeces reaching the wound, potentially causing infection. In addition, Safetac^® technology minimises trauma to the wound and surrounding skin, thereby minimising pain to the patient at dressing changes.
